Working with Canadian Provincial Safety Authorities for CRN Registration

Canada's decentralized pressure equipment regulation system means each province and territory has its own safety authority. Kopfkino has established working relationships with all Canadian pressure equipment authorities and manages authority correspondence on behalf of our clients.

TSSA — Ontario

TSSA administers Ontario CRN registration. Online portal submission, Ontario P.Eng. required, TSSA-specific data sheets mandatory. Review time: 8–16 weeks.

ABSA — Alberta

ABSA is Canada's most rigorous authority. Detailed review, ABSA Form 1 required, Alberta P.Eng. (APEGA) needed. Review time: 10–20 weeks.

TSBC — British Columbia

Technical Safety BC uses BCSA online portal. BC P.Eng. (EGBC) required. Seismic analysis may be required. Review time: 8–14 weeks.

ACI Central — Seven Jurisdictions

ACI Central in Charlottetown, PEI handles NB, NS, PE, NL, YT, NT, and NU. One submission yields seven CRNs — the most efficient multi-jurisdiction pathway.

Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec

TSASK, OFC (Manitoba), and RBQ (Quebec) each have their own submission requirements. Quebec prefers French documentation. Kopfkino handles all three as part of national campaigns.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I communicate directly with the authority?
Kopfkino manages all authority correspondence as part of our standard service. Direct client contact during our engagement can create conflicting information and delay reviews.
